Actidose-Aqua Advance

What is it?

A preparation of activated charcoal, 50g in suspension, for emergency use.

Medical Uses

Drug overdose and poisoning.

Dosage

Adults: 50 to 100g by mouth or via gastric tube, in immediate aftermath of poisoning or 25 to 50g every 4 to 6 hours. Children: infants less than 1 year: lg per kg of body weight every 4 to 6 hours; ages 1 to 12 years: 25 to 50g every 4 to 6 hours. Dosages repeated according to need.

Special Care

May need to be used in conjunction with other preparations, according to type of poison.

Possible Drug and Food Interactions

Other emetics or antidotes given by mouth.
