Aerobec Autohaler

What is it?

A corticosteroid preparation for inhalation containing beclometasone dipropionate. Available in two strengths, 50µg or 100µg per metered dose, delivered by breath-actuated, aerosol inhalation. Also, AEROBEC FORTE AUTO- HALER containing 250µg Beclomethasone dipropionate per metered dose, delivered by breath-actuated, aerosol inhalation.

Medical Uses

Obstructive airways disease which is chronic and reversible.

Dosage

Aerobes, Adults: 100µg inhaled 3 to 4 times each day or 200µg twice daily. If condition severe, 600 to 800µg may be inhaled each day in divided doses with absolute maximum of 1mg. Chil dren: 50 to 100µg inhaled between 2 and 4 times daily. Aerobec Forte, Adults only: 250µg inhaled 4 times daily or 500µg twice each day. If necessary, dose can be increased to 500µg 4 times each day.

Special Care

Pregnancy, patients who have been taking other steroid drugs, pulmonary tuberculosis, both active and past infection.

Known Side Effects

Throat irritation and hoarseness, Candida (thrush-type) infections of throat and mouth.
