Agrippal

What is it?

A vaccine preparation comprising inactivated surface antigens of three strains of influenza virus: A/New Caledonia/20/99 (H 1 N 1) -like strain, A/Moscow/10/99(H1N2)-like strain, B/ Hong Kong/330/2001-like strain. Preparation comprises 15µg of each strain per 0.5ml, available as suspension in ready to use syringes.

Medical Uses

Immunisation against above strains of influenza.

Dosage

Adults: 0.5ml; children aged 6 months to 3 years: 0.25ml or 0.5ml; 3 years and above, 0.5ml. If child not previously been vaccinated or infected, dose is repeated after at least one month has passed. All injections are either deep subcutaneous or intramuscular.

Pregnancy.

Avoid Use

Infant less than 6 months old, feverish illness, known allergy to egg or chicken proteins.

Known Side Effects

Soreness at injection site, mild fever and malaise; rarely, neurological effects.
