Airomir

What is it?

A bronchodilator, salbutamol (as sulphate) delivered via an aerosol, 100µg per dose.

Medical Uses

Emphysema, bronchial asthma, chronic bronchitis. Prevention of exercise-induced asthma.

Dosage

In adults, 1 or 2 puffs for an acute attack, 2 puffs before exercise, maximum dosage 8 in 24 hours. Same for children except before exercise, 1 or 2 puffs.

Special Care

Hypertension, heart defects including angina, hyperthyroidism, pregnancy.

Possible Drug and Food Interactions

Sympathomimetics (bronchial muscle relaxant) 1blockers.

Known Side Effects

Headache, hypokalaemia, tremor, peripheral vasodilatation.
