Aknemin

What is it?

An antibiotic drug, containing minocyeline hydrochloride, available as 50mg red/fawn coloured capsules and 100mg red capsules.

Medical Uses

Acne.

Dosage

Adults, twice daily dose of 50mg or 100mg. Tablets required for a minimum period of 6 weeks to 3 months with improvement not expected until after first month.

Special Care

Liver or kidney disorders.

Avoid Use

Pregnant and nursing moth ers, children, kidney failure, SLE(Systemic Lupus Erythematosus).

Possible Drug and Food Interactions

Alcohol, antacidstomach preparations, mineral supplements, anticoagulant drugs, penicillin.

Known Side Effects

Skin rashes, dizziness, blood abnormalities. Possible intracranial hypertension - drug should be discontinued.
