Alu-Cap

What is it?

A preparation which acts as an antacid and phosphate binder, containing 475mg of dried aluminium hydroxide gel in each red/green capsule. Capsules are marked 3M.

Medical Uses

Over production of stomach acid (hyperacidity) and to bind phosphate in kidney failure.

Dosage

Adults, hyperacidity; 1 capsule 4 times each day and before going to bed. Adults, phosphate binding; 4 to 20 capsules each day in divided doses, taken with meals.

Avoid Use

Children, patients with low levels of phosphate in blood.

Possible Drug and Food Interactions

Tetracycline antibiotics.
