Amoram
What is it?
A broad-spectrum antibiotic, penicillin preparation available in capsules of two different strengths containing 250mg and 500mg amoxicillin (as trihydrate), respectively. Capsules are coloured white/ red and marked with name and strength. Also, AMORAM SUSPENSION, available in two different strengths, containing 125mg and 250mg amoxycillin (as trihydrate) per 5ml of sugar-free suspension, respectively.
Medical Uses
Infections - ear, nose and throat, urinary tract, soft tissue and respiratory.
Dosage
Adults and children over 10 years old; 250mg to 500mg three times each day. Children less than 10 years; 125mg three times each day.
Special Care
Kidney disease, infectious mononucleosis.
Possible Drug and Food Interactions
Allopurinol, anticoagulant drugs.
Known Side Effects
Gastrointestinal upset, allergic responses. Rarely, effects on blood, hepatitis, cholestatic jaundice, central nervous system effects.
