Anugesic - HC

What is it?

A preparation containing corticosteroid combined with antiseptic and soothing properties, available in the form of a cream and as suppositories. The cream contains 1.2% benzyl benzoate, 0.875% bismuth oxide, 0.5% hydrocortisone acetate, 1.85% Peru balsam, 1% pramoxine hydrochloride and 12.35% zinc oxide. Anugesic - HC suppositories contain 33mg benzyl benzoate, 24mg bismuth oxide, 59mg bismuth subgallate, 5mg hydrocortisone acetate, 49mg Peru balsam, 27mg pramoxine hydrochloride and 296mg zinc oxide.

Medical Uses

Haemorrhoids, anal itching and other ano-rectal disorders.

Dosage

Adults, 1 suppository or application of cream morning and night and after bowel movement.

Special Care

Pregnant women. Avoid prolonged use-no more than 7 days.

Avoid Use

Children. Fungal and viral infections. Tuberculosis.

Known Side Effects

Systemic (affecting body as a whole) corticosteroid effects.
