Anusol HC
What is it?
An astringent antiseptic with soothing properties in the form of an ointment and suppositories. The ointment contains 1.25% benzyl benzoate, 0.87% bismuth oxide, 2.25% bismuth subgallnte, 0.25% hydrocortisone acetate, 1.87% Peru balsam, 10.75% zinc oxide. The suppositories contain 33mg benzyl benzoate, 24mg bismuth oxide, 59mg bismuth subgallate, 10mg hydrocortisone acetate, 49mg Peru balsam and 296mg zinc oxide.
Medical Uses
Haemorrhoids, anc-rectal inflammation.
Dosage
Adults, one application of ointment or one suppository night and morning and after bowel movement.
Special Care
Pregnant women. Not to be used for longer than 7 days.
Avoid Use
Children, patients with fungal or viral infections or suffering from tuberculosis.
Known Side Effects
Systemic (affecting whole body) corticosteroid effects.
