Aureocort

What is it?

A combined antibacterial and steroid preparation available in the form of cream or ointment, containing 0.1% of the corticosteroid triamcinolone acetonide and 3% of the tetracycline antibiotic, chlortetracycline hydrochloride.

Medical Uses

Inflammation and irritation of the skin where infection is present Also, .

Dosage

Apply sparingly to affected skin two or three times daily.

Special Care

Limit use to a short time period. In children and on face, treatment should not exceed 5 days.

Avoid Use

On extensive areas of skin or for long time periods or for prevention. Acne (including rosacea), urticaria, scabies, leg ulcers, viral skin infections, tuberculosis, ringworm.

Known Side Effects

Thinning of skin and skin changes, adrenal gland suppression, fluid retention.
