Beclazone Easi-Breathe

What is it?

A corticosteroid preparation containing either 50 or 100µg beclomethasone dipropionate per dose, delivered by breath activated metered dose aerosol. Also, BECLAZONE INHALER, available in three strengths, containing 50, 100 or 200µg beclometasone dipropionate delivered by breath-activated metered dose inhaler. Also, BECLAZONE 250 INHALER, containing 250µg beclomethasone diproprionate per breath-activated metered dose. Also, BECLAZONE 250 EASI-BREATHE containing 250µg beclometasone dipropionate delivered by breath-activated inhaler.

Medical Uses

Chronic reversible obstructive airways disease (asthma).

Dosage

Beclazone Easi-Breathe, Beclazone Inhaler; adults: 100µg three to four each day or 200µg twice each day. Severe asthma, 600 to 800µg at start, reducing dosage as condition responds. Children: 100 to 200µg twice each day or 50 to 100µg two to four times each day according to need. Beclazone 250 Inhaler, Beclazone 250 Easi-Breathe; adults: 500µg twice each day or 250µg four times each day. The maximum daily dose is 2000µg. These preparations are not recommended for children.

Special Care

Pulmonary tuberculosis, pregnant women, patients who havebeen taking systemic steroid drugs.

Known Side Effects

Hoarseness, fungal infec tions of throat and mouth.
