What is it?
A Preparation Used To Reduce High Levels Of Fats (Lipids) In The Bloodstream, And Available In The Form Of White, Film-Coated Tablets Marked BM/ G6, Containing 200mg Bezafibrate. Bezalip-MONO Are White, Film- Coated, Modified-Release Tablets Marked BM/D9 Containing 400mg Bezafibrate.
Medical Uses
Hyperlipidaemias (High Blood Levels Of Lipids, Classified As Type H~A, Iib, III, IV And V) Which Are Resistant To Changes In Diet.
Dosage
Adults, Bezalip-MONO, 1 Tablet After Food At Night Or In Morning. Bezalip, 1 Tablet 3 Times Each Day With Food.
Special Care
Patients With Kidney Disease; Patients Receiving Dialysis Require Lesser Dose.
Avoid Use
Children, Patients With Serious Kidney, Gall Bladder Or Liver Disease, Nephrotic Disease, Light-Sensitivity Reactions To Fibrates, Pregnant And Breast-Feeding Women.
Possible Drug And Food Interactions
Maois, Antidiabetic And Anticoagulant Drugs, Statins, Resins, Cyclosporin.
Known Side Effects
Gastro-Intestinal Upset, Rash, Muscle Pain, Elevated Levels Of Creatinine. Rarely, Blood Changes, Hair Loss, Gall Stones, Impotence, Raised Liver Enzyme Levels, Cholestesis (Disruption In The Flow Of Bile).
