Canesten Pessaries
What is it?
Antifungal pessaries available in two different strengths, containing 100mg or 200mg of clotrimazole, respectively, with applicator.
Medical Uses
Vaginitis caused by fungal infection.
Dosage
Women, insert one 100mg pessary at night for 6 consecutive nights, or use one 200mg pessary two 100mg pessaries for 3 consecutive nights. Also, CANESTEN 500MG VAGINAL PESSARY, containing 500mg clotrimazole. Used fbr: vaginitis caused by fungal infection but Also, mixed infections where trichornonas may be contributing.
Dosage
Single pessary inserted on one night. Also, CANESTEN 10% VC, 5g of cream within a prepared applicator containing 10% clotrimazole.

Dosage
Insert whole contents of applicator into vagina as night-time single dose. Also, CANESTEN COMBI, comprising a pessary plus applicator containing 500mg clotrimazole and 10g of cream containing 2% clotrimazole.

As above.
Dosage
Women, insert pessary as single night-time treatment and apply cream to vulva, morning and night. Male partner, apply cream to penis night and morning to prevent reinfection.
Possible Drug and Food Interactions
Barrier contraceptives.

Slight burning or irritation in treated area.
