Chimax

What is it?

A preparation used in chemotherapy which is an anti-androgen, available in the form of yellow tablets containing 250mg of flutamide, each marked CHI 250.

Medical Uses

Advanced cancer of the prostate gland.

Dosage

Adult men, 1 tablet 3 times each day.

Special Care

Patients with fluid build up as a result of heart and circulatory disease; liver function tests must be carried out.

Possible Drug and Food Interactions

Warfarin.

Known Side Effects

Breast tenderness and enlargement, milk production, tiredness, insomnia, gastrointestinal effects, hunger, toxic effects on liver.
