Chirocain

What is it?

A local anaesthetic preparation available in ampoules for injection containing 2.5mg, 5mg or 7.5mg of levobupivacaine as hydrochloride.

Medical Uses

In adults, surgical anaesthesia eg epidural, relief of labour pain and pain following surgery. In children, analgesia (pain relief) eg iliohypogastric/ilioinguinel blocks.

Dosage

According to manufacturer's instructions and under supervision of skilled anaesthetist.

Known Side Effects

Any adverse reactions should be reported to the Committee on the Safety of Medicines (CSM).
