Chloromycetin
What is it?
A preparation which is a broad-spectrum antibiotic containing 1% chloramphenicol in the form of an ointment. Also, CHLOROMYCETIN REDIDROPS, containing 0.5% chloramphenicol in the form of eye drops.
Medical Uses
Conjunctivitis of bacterial origin.
Dosage
Apply ointment, or two Redidrops, to eye (as advised by doctor) every three hours or more frequently, as directed by doctor, if required. Treatment should continue for a further 48 hours after symptoms have disappeared.
Known Side Effects
Rarely, aplastic anaemia.
