Cicatrin
What is it?
An aminoglycoside, antibacterial preparation available in the form of a cream and dusting powder. The cream and powder contain 3300 units neomycin sulphate, 250 units bacitracin zinc, 2mg 1-cysteine, 10mg glycine and 1mg threonine per g.
Medical Uses
Minor bacterial skin infections.
Dosage
Adults and children, cream and powder, apply up to 3 times each day to affected skin for a maximum period of 1 week. Infants (other than newborns), apply a lesser dose.
Special Care
On large areas of affected skin, kidney disorders.
Avoid Use
New-born infants.
Possible Drug and Food Interactions
Neuromuscular blockers.
Known Side Effects
Allergic responses, ototoxicity (damage to organs of hearing and balance).
