What is it?

An osmotic, laxative preparation available as an effervescent powder for mixing with water, containing 17.7g of magnesium citrate.

Medical Uses

Complete evacuation of the bowel before investigative procedures (colonoscopy, endoscopy, radiological examination) or surgery involving the colon and rectum.

Dosage

Adults, on the day before the procedure, 1 sachet mixed with 200ml of water at Sam and then a second dose in the afternoon, between 2 and 4pm. Children aged 5 to 9 years, one third of adult dose; aged 10 and over, half the adult dose.

Special Care

Elderly, ill or frail patients with low body weight; patient should drink plenty of fluids and receive dietary advice.

Avoid Use

Children aged less than 5 years, severe kidney disorders.
