Cobalin-H

What is it?

A preparation of vitamin Biz available as 1000µg of hydroxocobalamin per ml, in ampoules for injection.

Medical Uses

Megaloblastic anaemia and similar macrocytic anaemias (disorders of the blood characterised by reduced production of red blood cells and enlarged, fragile red blood cells) that respond to vitamin B 1z, tobacco amblyopia (an eye disorder).

Dosage

For anaemias, 250 to 1000µg by intramuscular injection on alternate days at first, continuing for 1 to 2 weeks, then 250µg once a week until the blood count has returned to normal. The maintenance dose is 1000µg every 2 to 3 months. Dosages for ambylopias is according to literature, under supervision of specialist physician.
