What is it?

A keratolytic (encourages skin peeling) and antipruritic (anti- itching) preparation available as a coconut-oil based ointment comprising 12% coal tar, 4% sulphur and 2% salicylic acid.

Medical Uses

Seborrhoeic dermatitis, eczema and psoriasis affecting the scalp, dandruff.

Dosage

Adults and children over 6 years, rub onto scalp, leave for 1 hour and then use shampoo, as usual. Repeat once each day for 3 to 7 days and thereafter use occasionally for control.

Special Care

Keep out of eyes.

Avoid Use

Children aged under 6 years, pustular psoriasis, acute infections of scalp.

Known Side Effects

Folliculitis (inflammation of the follicles), irritation of the scalp.
