Colofac MR

What is it?

An anticholinergic, antispasmodic preparation produced in the form of sustained-release capsules, tablets and as a liquid. White, sustained-release capsules marked S245 contain 200mg of mebeverine hydro chloride. White, sugar-coated tablets contain 135mg mebeverine hydrochloride. Yellow banana-flavoured, sugar-free COLOFAC SUSPENSION contains mebeverine pamoate (equivalent to 50mg mebeverine hydrochloride per 5ml).

Medical Uses

Bowel spasm and gastro-intestinal spasm in irritable bowel syn drome and gastro-intestinal disorders.

Dosage

Adults, 1 tablet or 15ml suspension 20 minutes before a meal 3 times each day. Children over 10 years, same as adult dose.

Special Care

Porphyria (inherited disorders in which there is increased production of compounds called porphyrins).

Avoid Use

Children under 10 years, paralytic ileus.
