Corsodyl

What is it?

Various antibacterial preparations containing chlorhexidine gluconate. Corsodyl Solution contains 0.2%, available as original or mint-flavoured mouth wash; Corsodyl Gel contains 1% chlorhexidine gluconate; Corsodyl Spray contains 0.2% as liquid spray.

Medical Uses

Oral hygiene, gum disease and inflammation, mouth ulcers, thrush infections of the mouth.

Dosage

Mouth wash, wash round mouth for 1 minute twice each day; gel, brush teeth with 2.5cm squeeze of gel once or twice each day, continuing for one month; spray, apply morning and evening to a maximum of 12 divided doses.

Known Side Effects

Discolouration of teeth and tongue, changed sense of taste, slight irritation in mouth.
