Cyklokapron

What is it?

An antifibrinolytic preparation produced in the form of tablets and as a solution for injection. White, oblong, film-coated scored tablets, marked CV, contain 500mg tranexamic acid. CYKLOKAPRON INJECTION contains 100mg tranexamic acid per ml in ampoules for injection.

Medical Uses

Local or general fibrinolytic disorders, i. e. those characterized by haemorrhage; menorrhagia (abnormally heavy menstrual bleeding or prolonged periods).

According to manufacturer's specifications.

Special Care

Patients with kidney disorders, haematuria (blood in urine), especially associated with haemophilia. Patients suffering from angioneurotic oedema require eye and liver function tests during the course of long-term treatment.

Avoid Use

History of thrombosis, thromboembolic disorders.

Known Side Effects

Gastrointestinal upset. If disturbance in colour vision occurs, drug should be withdrawn.
