Differin
What is it?
A retinoid-like preparation used in the treatment of acne which reduces inflammation and blackhead formation. Available as an aqueous gel and a cream, both containing 0.1% adapalene.
Medical Uses
Mild to moderately severe acne where papules, blackheads and pustules are the predominant feature.
Dosage
Adults, apply a thin layer at night time after washing and drying the affected area. Use for 3 months and then assess efficacy of treatment.
Special Care
Pregnancy, breastfeeding; women should use effective contraception. Do not allow contact with eyes, interior of nose or mucous membranes and avoid exposure of treated skin to prolonged sunlight.
Avoid Use
Acne which is severe, eczema, on broken skin.
