Dimetriose
What is it?
A gonadotrophin release inhibitor, available as white capsules containing 2.5mg of gestrinone.
Medical Uses
Endometriosis.
Dosage
1 twice weekly on the first and fourth day of the cycle, then on the same days of the week throughout the period of treatment.
Special Care
Ensure no pregnancy prior to beginning treatment, diabetes, hyperlipidaemia; barrier contraceptive methods should be used.
Avoid Use
Pregnancy, breastfeeding, severe heart, kidney or liver disease, metabolic or vascular disorders.
Possible Drug and Food Interactions
Rifampicin, oral contraceptives, anticonvulsants.
Known Side Effects
Gastrointestinal upsets, cramp, hirsutism, depression, voice changes, acne, weight gain, slight bleeding (spotting).
