Diprosalic

What is it?

A potent steroid and keratolytic (causing shedding of outer skin layer) ointment, containing 0.05% betamethasone dipropionate and 3% salicylic acid. Also, DIPROSALIC SCALP APPLICATION containing 0.05% betamethasone dipropionate and 2% salicylic acid in solution.

Medical Uses

Ointment, hard skin and dry skin disorders. Scalp application, similar conditions affecting the scalp.

Dosage

Ointment, apply thinly once or twice per day. Scalp application, apply a few drops to the scalp and rub in, twice daily.

Special Care

Limit use on face to 5 days. Withdraw gradually after prolonged use.

Avoid Use

Leg ulcers, scabies, pen-oral dermatitis, untreated fungal or viral infections, tuberculous, ringworm or viral skin diseases, acne. Lengthy or extensive use in pregnancy. Not for children.

Known Side Effects

Skin striae (lines) and atrophy (dead skin), telangiectasia (multiple telangiectases, which are collections of distended blood capillaries), Cushingoid changes (see Cushing's syndrome), adrenal gland suppression.
