Doralese

What is it?

A selective Al blocker, available as pale yellow, triangular, film- coated tablets containing 20mg of indoramin. Used for obstruction of urine outflow due to benign prostatic hypertrophy (enlarged prostate gland).

Dosage

Adult men, 1 tablet twice each day at first, increasing if required every 2 weeks by 20mg to a daily maximum of 5 tablets (100mg), in divided doses.

Special Care

Liver or kidney disease, epilepsy, depression, Parkinsonism. Patients with poor heart function should be stabilised before treatment.

Avoid Use

Heart failure.

Possible Drug and Food Interactions

Antihypertensives, MAOIs.

Known Side Effects

Drowsiness, dry mouth, blocked nose, ejaculation failure, weight gain.
