Electrolade

What is it?

a preparation of electrolytes and glucose, available as a powder in various flavours for reconstitution with water, containing 4g of glucose, 500mg of sodium bicarbonate, 300mg of potassium chloride and 236mg of sodium chloride.

Medical Uses

Fluid and electrolyte replacement in patients suffering from acute, watery diarrhoea or other conditions where supplementation is necessary.

Dosage

Each sachet should be mixed with 200ml of water. adults, 1 to 2 sachets after every loose bowel movement to a maximum of 16 in 24 hours. Children, aged less than 2 years, one to one and a half times the usual volume of (milk) feed; aged 2 years and over, 1 sachet after every loose bowel movement to a maximum of 12 sachets in 24 hours.

Avoid Use

Kidney disorders.
