Emadine

What is it?

An anti-inflammatory/antihistamine preparation available as eye drops containing 0.5mg of emedastine per ml. Usedfor: seasonal conjunctivitis arising as a result of hayfever allergy.

Dosage

Adults and children aged over 3 years, 1 drop into each affected eye twice each day.

Special Care

Infiltration of cornea - discontinue immediately; do not insert contact lenses for at least 10 to 15 minutes after inserting drops.

Avoid Use

Pregnancy, breastfeeding, elderly, children under 3 years, liver or kidney disorders.

Known Side Effects

Headache, blurring of vision, short-lived irritation, runny nose, pain fluid retention. Any adverse side effects should be reported to the Committee on the Safety of Medicines (CSM).
