Endoxana
What is it?
An alkylating eytotoxic drug produced as a powder in vials containing 200mg, 500mg or 1g of cyclophosphamide, for reconstitution and injection. It is Also, available as white sugarcoated tablets (50mg).
Medical Uses
Malignant diseases e. g. lymphoma, leukaemia and some solid tumours.
Dosage
Adults, taken with Uromitexan as directed by physician skilled in cancer chemotherapy.
Special Care
Patients with diabetes, elderly or debilitated persons.
Avoid Use
Children, pregnancy, breastfeeding, myelosuppression (suppression of production of blood cells in the bone marrow), blood in urine, damage to lining of urinary tract, acute urinary tract infections.
Possible Drug and Food Interactions
Sulphonylureas, radiotherapy, doxorubicin, other chemotherapeutic agents, suxamethonium, allopurinol
Known Side Effects
Vomiting, hair loss, nausea, bone marrow suppression and suppression of the reticulo-endothelial system, toxic effects on heart and urinary tract, haematuria (blood in urine), male sterility (Azoospermiaa lack of spermaztozoa in the semen), amenorrhoea (cessation/absence of menstruation).
