Estracyt
What is it?
A preparation of a sex hormone used to treat cancer, which is an oestrogenic alkylating agent, produced in the form of off-white capsules containing 140mg estramustine phosphate (as disodium salt).
Medical Uses
Prostatic cancer.
Dosage
Adults, 4 capsules each day in divided doses taken 1 hour before meals or 2 hours afterwards, in first instance. Dose is then adjusted according to response of patient's condition with an average between 1 and 10 capsules each day. Capsules must not be taken with milk or dairy products.
Special Care
Bone marrow disorder.
Avoid Use
Serious heart or liver disease, peptic ulcer.

Known Side Effects
Enlargement of breasts, toxic effects on heart, disturbance of liver function, gastrointestinal upset, reduced sexual drive, thromboembolic effects.
