What is it?

An anti-cancer drug which is an aromatase inhibitor, available in the form of yellow tablets containing 2.5mg of letrnzole. Usedfor. first line treatment of advanced breast cancer following the menopause; Also, for advanced post-menopausal breast cancer which does not respond to other anti-oestrogens or tamvxifen. Treatment prior to surgery in some women with certain forms of post-menopausal breast cancer, in order to conserve breast tissue.

Dosage

Women, 1 tablet each day.

Special Care

Very severe kidney disease.

Avoid Use

Pregnancy, breastfeeding, pre-menopausal women, very severe liver disorders.

Known Side Effects

Flushes, headache, pain in muscles and joints, tiredness, viral infections, gastrointestinal upset, breathlessness, cough, pains in chest and abdomen.
