What is it?

Freeze-dried human coagulation factor XIII, available as a powder in vials for reconstitution and injection, comprising 250iu.

Medical Uses

Prevention and treatment of bleeding and promotion of wound healing in people with inherited deficiency of Factor XIII.

Dosage

Adults and children, according to manufacturer's instructions; administered by slow intravenous injection or infusion.

Special Care

Residual risk of transmission of viruses responsible for serious illnesses eg HIV hepatitis B and hepatitis C. Blood tests should be carried out and monitoring for antibodies.

Known Side Effects

Allergic reactions - discontinue treatment.
