Fleet Enema

What is it?

An osmotic preparation containing 21.4g of sodium acid phosphate and 9.4g of sodium phosphate per 133ml.

Medical Uses

Constipation, evacuation of bowel before and after obstetric surgery and before procedures to examine the bowel.

Dosage

Adults, 1 enema once daily; children over 3 years, proportion of enema according to body weight, as directed by doctor.

Special Care

Patients requiring a restricted sodium intake.

Avoid Use

Children under 3 years, congestive heart failure, patients who have conditions in which the colon has increased capabilities for absorption.
