What is it?

A preparation which is a faecal softener available as a single dose micro-enema containing 90mg of docusate sodium and 3.78g of glycerol in 5ml of solution.

Medical Uses

Constipation, clearance of bowel before and after obstetrics surgery and before such procedures as sigmoidoscopy, radiological examination and proctoscopy.

Dosage

Adults, 1 enema as required; children over 3 years, proportion of 1 enema according to body weight.
