Forceval

What is it?

A preparation containing 24 minerals, trace elements and vitamins produced in the form of brown/red gelatin capsules marked 6377 and FORCEVAL. Also, FORCEVAL JUNIOR available as oval brown gelatin capsules marked 571, containing 22 vitamins, minerals and trace elements.

Medical Uses

A dietary supplement to prevent and treat mineral and vitamin deficiencies in patients unable to obtain adequate amounts from food alone. May be used, for example, in patients recuperating from serious illness or surgery, and those on special controlled diets or who have intolerance to foods.

Dosage

1 capsule daily; children, Forceval Junior only, over 5 years of age, 2 capsules each day.

Avoid Use

Children under 5 years, patients with disorders of iron absorption and storage (haemochromatosis), hypercalcaemia (raised blood calcium levels).

Possible Drug and Food Interactions

Anticoagulant drugs; Also, with Forceval Junior, phenytoin, tetracyclines.
