Glytrin
What is it?
An antianginal preparation which is a nitrate, available as an aerosol delivering 0.4mg of glyceryl trinitrate per metered dose.
Medical Uses
Acute attack of anginal pain.
Dosage
Adults, 1 or 2 doses at start of attack or, as preventative, before physical exertion. The spray should be directed into the mouth under the tongue, and the mouth closed immediately. Maximum dose is 3 sprays.
Special Care
Do not inhale the spray.
Avoid Use
Children, brain haemorrhage or injury, low blood pressure, enlarged heart, stenosis (narrowing) of mitral valve of heart, patients with shock or serious anaemia.
Known Side Effects
Flushing, dizziness, headache.
