What is it?

An antifungal preparation available as vaginal pessaries containing 150mg of econazole nitrate, available with applicator. Also, GYNOPEVARYL 1 CP, a combipak of 1 pessary plus 15g of cream. Also, GYNOPEVARYL CTREAM, containing 1% econazole nitrate. Also, GYNOPEVARYL PESSARIES, containing 150mg of econazole nitrate. Also, GYNO-PEVARYL COMBIPAK, comprising 3 pessaries plus 15g of cream.

Medical Uses

Vaginitis caused by candida (thrush), fungal inflammation and infection of vulva and vagina, fungal balanitis (inflammation and infection of penis) in men, treatment of penis to prevent reinfection/cross-infection between sexual partners.

Dosage

Adults, women, pessaries, 1 inserted high up in vagina at night as single dose or for 3 consecutive nights, depending upon condition being treated and whether combined with cream; cream, insert 1 applicatorful into the vagina at night each day for 2 weeks and Also, apply to vulva. Men, apply to penis as advised by doctor, usually for 2 weeks.
