Havrix Monodose
What is it?
A preparation of inactivated hepatitis A virus HM available in pre- filled syringes containing 1440 ELISA units per ml adsorbed on aluminium hydroxide. Also, HAVRIX JUNIOR, pre-filled 0.5ml syringes containing 720 ELISA units per 0.5ml of hepatitis Avirus HM 175 strain adsorbed on aluminium hydroxide.
Medical Uses
Immunization against hepatitis A virus.
Dosage
Adults and children age 16 and over, Havrix Monodose, primary immunization, 1 intramuscular injection of 1ml followed by repeated dose 6 to 12 months later. Children under 16 years, Havrix junior only, age 1 to 15 years, primary immunization, 0.5ml by intramuscular injection followed by repeated dose 6 to 12 months later.
Special Care
Pregnancy, breast-feeding, infections, dialysis or with lowered immunity.
Avoid Use
Patients with severe fever, children under 1 year.
Possible Drug and Food Interactions
Nausea, fatigue, malaise, soreness and skin reactionsat injection site, appetite loss.
