Helixate Nexgen
What is it?
A preparation of recombinant, human coagulation factor VIII. Available in two strengths, octocg alfa with antihaemophilic factor activity of 500iu or 1000i1, as powder in vials with diluent, for injection.

Treatment of Haemophilia A
Dosage
Adults and children, accordingto manufacturer's specifications.
Special Care
Pregnancy, breastfeeding; patient should be monitored for development of inhibitors.
Avoid Use
Known allergy to hamster or mouse proteins, Von Willebrand's disease.
Known Side Effects
Development of inhibitors to Factor VIII, tightness in chest, nausea, slightly low blood pressure, dizziness, soreness/skin reaction at injection site. In the event of allergic reactions, discontinue treatment. All adverse side effects should be reported to the Committee on the Safety of Medicines (CSM).
