Hemofil M

What is it?

A preparation of Factor VIII available in 3 different strengths as antihaernophilic factor with activity of 250iu, 500iu or 1000iu. Available as a powder in vials with solution for reconstitution and injection.

Medical Uses

Haemophilia A.

Dosage

Adults and children, 1 to 4ml per minute by intravenous infusion according to patient's weight, presence of inhibitors, degree/nature of haemorrhage. Consult manufacturer's instructions.

Special Care

Possible risk of transmission of viruses - H1V, Hepatitis B and C; risks/benefits should be evaluated before using. Patient should be monitored for appearance of inhibitor antibodies.

Avoid Use

Allergy to mouse protein.

Known Side Effects

Development of inhibitors, soreness/skin reactions at injection site. Discontinue in the event of allergic reactions.
