Imunovir

What is it?

An antiviral preparation and immunomodulator produced in the form of white tablets containing 500mg of inosine pranobex.

Medical Uses

Infections of mucous membranes and skin caused by Herpes simplex virus, (type I and/or II), subacute inflammation of the brain, genital herpes, as additional therapy for genital warts being treated with CO2 laser or podophyllin.

Dosage

Adults, Herpes simplex infections, lg 4 times each day for 1 to 2 weeks; inflammation of the brain, 50100mg per kg of body weight each day every 4 hours in divided doses; genital warts, 1g 3 times each day for 2 to 4 weeks.

Special Care

Patients with abnormally high blood levels of uric acid (hyperuricaemia), gout, kidney disease.

Avoid Use

Children.

Raised uric acid levels.
