Iodoflex

What is it?

A preparation which is absorbent and antibacterial available as a paste with removable gauze, containing cadexomer iodine.

Medical Uses

Chronic leg ulcers and other similar, exuding wounds.

Dosage

Adults, apply up to 50g to ulcer and cover with additional dressing; renew when dressing is saturated or 3 times each week. Dose should not exceed 150g in any week and use should be restricted to a period of 3 months.

Special Care

Disorders of the thyroidgland, serious kidney impairment.

Avoid Use

Children, pregnancy, breastfeeding, Hashimoto's thyroiditis, non-toxic nodular goitre (both are forms of thyroid gland disorder).

Possible Drug and Food Interactions

Mercury-based an tiseptics, lithium.
