Lamprene

What is it?

An antileprotic preparation and phenazine, available as reddish- brown gelatin capsules marked GEIGYAND GM, containing 100mg of clofazimine. Usedfur: leprosy.

Dosage

As advised and according to patient's weight; consult manufacturer's instructions.

Special Care

Pregnancy, breastfeeding, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, liver or kidney disease.

Known Side Effects

Dry skin, itching, discolouration of hair, skin and secretions, gastro-intestinal upsets (adjust dose and (or timing of doses), tiredness, loss of weight, anorexia, visual impairment, corneal pigmentation, infarction (development of dead area) of spleen, lymphadenopathy (disease of lymph glands), raised blood sugar levels.
