Ledermycin

What is it?

A tetracycline antibiotic preparation, available as dark red/light red capsules marked LEDERLE 9123, containing 150mg of demeclocycline hydrochloride.

Medical Uses

Respiratory and soft tissue infections; chronic low salt levels in blood due to SIADH (syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion).

Dosage

Adults, 300rng twice each day or 150mg 4 times each day.

Special Care

Liver and kidney disease.

Avoid Use

Children, pregnancy, breastfeeding.

Possible Drug And Food Interactions

Milk, anticoagulants, mineral supplements, penicillins, antacids, oral contraceptives.Side effects: sensitivity to light, gastrointestinal upset, superinfections. In rare cases, raised pressure within the brain (drug should be withdrawn).
