Lodine SR

What is it?

An NSAID and pyranocarboxylate, available as grey, oval, sustained-release tablets marked LODINE and SR 600, containing 600mg of pyranocarboxylate.

Medical Uses

Osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis.

Dosage

Adults, 1 tablet each day.

Special Care

Elderly patients, liver, kidney or heart disorder, high blood pressure, heart failure, retention of fluid, asthma. Monitor those on long-term treatment.

Avoid Use

Children, pregnancy, breastfeeding, active or previous peptic ulcer, history of gastrointestinal bleeding, aspirin or anti-inflammatory induced allergy.

Possible Drug and Food Interactions

Methotrexate, corticosteroids, lithium, cyclosporin, mifepristone, anticoagulants, quinolones, digoxin, antihypertensives.

Known Side Effects

Gastro-intestinal upset or bleeding, nausea, epigastric (upper central abdomen) pain, headache, dizziness, nephritis, rash, tinnitus (ringing in ears), angioedema (condition in which there is widespread swelling).
