Maxidex

What is it?

Lubricant and corticosteroid eyedrops containing 0.5% hypromellose and 0.1% dexamethasone.

Medical Uses

Inflammation of anterior segment of eye.

Dosage

Serious disease, 1 to 2 drops each hour, reducing dose as condition improves. For milder conditions, 1 or 2 drops 4, 5 or 6 times each day.

Special Care

Long-term use by pregnant women and in babies.

Avoid Use

Glaucoma, tuberculous, viral or fungal infections or those producing pus; patients with soft contact lenses.

Known Side Effects

Cataract, thinning of cornea, rise in pressure within eye, fungal infection.
