Micralax

What is it?

A laxative preparation which is a lubricant and faecal softener, available as a micro-enema containing 450mg of sodium citrate, 45mg of sodium alkylsulphoacetate and 5mg of sorbic acid per 5ml of solution.

Medical Uses

Constipation, bowel clearance in advance of proctoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, x-ray examination.

Dosage

Adults and children over 3 years, 1 enema inserted to full extent of applicator nozzle.

Avoid Use

Children aged under 3 years, inflammatory conditions of the bowel.
