Minims Homatropine

What is it?

A diagnostic, anticholinergic eye preparation produced in the form of preservative-free, single dose drops containing 2% homatropine hydrobromide.

Medical Uses

To produce mydriasis (dilation of the pupil of the eye by contraction of certain muscles in the iris) and cytoplegia (paralysis of the muscles of accommodation in the eye along with relaxation of the ciliary muscle).

Dosage

Adults and children, 1 or more drops as needed.

Avoid Use

Narrow angle glaucoma.
