Minims Metipranolol
What is it?
A β-blocker produced in the form of preservative-free, single dose eyedrops in 2 strengths containing 0.1% and 0.3% metipranolol.
Medical Uses
Control of raised pressure within eye following surgery. Also, for chronic glaucoma in patients wearing soft contact lenses or who are allergic to preservatives.
Dosage
Chronic glaucoma, 1 drop into eye twice each day. Control of pressure within eye after surgery, consult manufacturer's instructions.
Special Care
Pregnancy, sinus bradycardia (slow heartbeat rate), 2nd or 3rd degree heart block.
Avoid Use
Obstructive airways disease, heart failure, bradyarrhythmias (heart arrhythmias in which the heartbeat rate is slow).
Possible Drug and Food Interactions
Other f3-blockers, verapamil.
Known Side Effects
Slight stinging and irritation, headache.
